Bike portraits San Francisco

Posted by on November 30, 2011

Artist Alice Stribling writes she’s “sort of obsessed with bicycles. I love to ride bicycles. I enjoy reading about bicycles. But I am particularly obsessed with drawing bicycles.”

The problem? “Bikes are hard to draw, for reals.”

But she has fun with it anyways as Alice hosts an annual “Cute Girls On Bicycles” sketch-a-thon at the San Francisco branch of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School. Above is her drawing of Sarah Murder, who did a two minute trackstand for the artist’s benefit. “Two minutes is not enough time to render a figure and bike.”

Alice has more bike sketches and thoughts on sketching bikes over at her blog.
